Decorate a Japanese room, everything low

Tatami floors, low tables and floor cushions, paper screens and sliding panels, simple ceramics, a tea set laid out, a bonsai on its stand, a paper lantern, and a cat asleep in a patch of sun. Two hundred and forty-eight stickers.

This is the one room built around the floor instead of the furniture. Almost everything can be set down at ground level and still look right, so you compose across the mat rather than against the walls. The players who finished a room here put down twenty-seven cushions and throws between them, more than any other kind in any other world.

Lay the mat, set the low table on it, put the tea things on the table, and move the table later: the tray, the cups and the kettle all travel with it.

The palette is the quietest in the game, straw and paper white and one green, so a room stays calm even when it is full. Full, here, is about forty-seven stickers.

Nothing counts and nothing finishes. Turn the evening on and the paper lantern lights the mat from above.

Four players have left a finished room here, if you would rather follow one than face an empty floor.
